Gallows for Sale

David Lucas said the sale of gallows was not "sick". A UK farmer who builds gallows and has sold them to African countries with poor human rights' records, has been condemned by Amnesty International.

David Lucas, of Mildenhall, Suffolk, has been selling execution equipment to countries, including Zimbabwe, for about 10 years.

On Tuesday, Amnesty International said the sale of these gallows, which is completely legal, was "appalling".

But Mr Lucas said: "It isn't a sick trade at all."

He said some people deserve the death penalty and "at the end of the day business is business".
