UFO Crash in South Africa

The latest from ‘Sith Ifrica’ where, it would appear, a UFO has slammed into the ground. 24.com reports:

‘Pretoria – A UFO was sighted at Lephalale, where it was described as a strange object “on an orange cloud, singing like a million turbines” – hitting the earth with a bang at 04:33 on Saturday.
That’s according to Leonie Ras, the administrative manager of Lephalale (Ellisras) who witnessed the spectacle at her daughter’s farm just east of the town on Saturday morning.’

Of course, this isn’t the first UFO to cause a flap in South Africa. A quick perusal of the historical records reveals that a UFO is alleged to have landed in the same place – Praetoria – in 1965. From About.com:

‘A case of UFO landing which is lacking details is that of an event which allegedly took place on September 17, 1965 in the town of Johannesburg, South Africa. UFO investigator Richard Hall released information on the case, after it was reported in America by the Associated Press. The case is a typical one with a vehicle encounter, physical trace evidence, and government secrecy.’

A third instance dating from 1996, recorded on Webtrance, reports that:

‘…a UFO was sighted over large parts of Pretoria and even further north in the early morning on 28 Aug 96 just before 4 am. An unusual light was seen shortly before 4 am by sgt. Johan Becker, stationed at the “Adriaan Vlok” police station in the suburb of Centurion Pretoria.
A police helicopter was able to take to the air at 5.30am with 5 people on board. The object then started moving northwards toward farming country at high speed.
Superintendant Fred Viljoen of the police air division, said that he did not believe in flying saucers, but “It is the first time in my life that I have seen anything like this. At first I thought that it was a joke when I was called out, but soon came to realise that this was something I have never experienced before. We were going after it at full speed and it still outran me with ease and as it wished.”
After chasing the object for a while, it suddenly took of [sic]. The helicopter climbed to height of 3000 m and eventually gave up the chase.’

Finally, it’s also worth noting these images from UFO Evidence which show UFOs snapped in South Africa in 1956 and 1963.
