Irish blogger Suzy Byrne has exposed yet another embarrasing gaff in the Sarah Palin Vice-President train-wreck. This comes at the end of a series of relentless revelations about John McCain’s questionable choice for Veep.
Byrne queried the assertion that Palin had visited Ireland – this cited by the Republicans as evidence of Palin’s travel experience and foreign policy credentials. It now turns out that Palin didn’t ‘visit’ Ireland in any meaningful sense – she stopped here when her plane refuelled at Shannon. This is the equivalent of me claiming intimate knowledge of Connecticut because I passed through it on a train from Rhode Island to New York.
Good woman Suzy. Blather doffs its tweed cranium-appendage.
This may not be an earth-shattering revelation in itself, but it has been picked up by the Huffington Post, and combined with the other stories about Palin, contributes to the growing picture of an entirely unqualified, gun-toting, anti-abortion secessionist who could be, quite literally, a heartbeat from the US Presidency.
Well done Suzy Byrne – Palin camp caught lying about extent of Ireland visit

Keep it coming. But stop using the term “anti-abortionist”, as in “entirely unqualified, gun-toting, anti-abortion secessionist”. Need to use the term “anti-choice” The opposite of “anti-abortionist” is “pro-abortionist” while the opposite of “anti-choice” is “pro-choice”. Which comparison sounds better to you?
