I made several quick visits to this temple in December 2008. I was fascinated by the calm and peace in the middle of Seoul’s hectic life.

A buddhist monk walks by the Hall of the Great Hero or Daeung-jeon at Jogye-sa Buddhist Temple, Seoul, South Korea. Jogyesa is the main temple of the Jogye Order of Korean Buddhism, and has a important part in Seon Buddhism. Located in Gyeonji-dong, Jongno-gu within in the old city of Seoul.

The greyness of the monk’s clothes signify ashes and death.
