Return of the Flower Fairy

Residents of Anderson Island in Washington are being treated to visits by that most gracious of beings, a ‘flower fairy’.

Once, when I was about fifteen years old, a rather deluded young woman bought me flowers. Nice of her really. But since then, nada. Not that I mind that much. I’d much rather you brought me to the cinema these days. I mean seriously, does anyone buy anyone flowers anymore? Isn’t it all i-pods and dildos these days?
Unanswerable questions perhaps, but we do know that at least one American citizen is still romancing others around them. Or at least trying to spread a little sunshine.

Last spring flower bouquets and potted plants began appearing without explanation at the homes of numerous residents of this small island southwest of Tacoma. After a summer hiatus, the practice has resumed, island Fire Chief Jim Bixler said.
