In another staggering example of journalistic laziness, perhaps brought on by the silly season, Reuters have reported that “Australian scientists have identified two new species of ancient marine reptile, similar to the mythical Loch Ness monster, that swam in an Australian outback sea 115 million years ago.”
I don’t even know where to start with that one. Does this qualify as a simile?
