Georgia uses web to expose hypocrisy of Russian press statements

If you can look past the obvious horror of what the Russian government are doing in Georgia (and stop laughing as the Russians claim this is because the Georgians are guilty of ‘genocide’) one of the more interesting aspects of the last few days is the way in which the Georgian government have been using the web to get their messages out to a confused media and world.
At the forefront of this is Google’s blogger. This blog has seen the Georgian Ministry of Foreign Affairs posting English-language updates to let us know what’s actually going on in there. The latest update informs us that contrary to Russian claims of a ceasefire, the relentless bombing and attacks are continuing.
Admist claims that Russia is also waging a cyber-war against Georgia (in an attempt to crush even digital dissent) free social media tools like Blogger are becoming invaluable weapons in making sure that the world does not turn a blind eye to what Putin and his oil-hungry cronies are doing.
