Scientists discover new type of rodent

In a rare addition to the animal family tree, scientists have discovered a new family of rodent.
It looks like a squirrel, sort of. But you can see rat-like features in its face. And in some ways it more closely resembles the guinea pig or chinchilla.

  1. Perhaps it’s a rat monkey like the one featured in Brain Dead by Peter Jackson

  2. i’ve always found it more likely that rats would mutate in the darker corners of the London Underground system. One of the little buggers jumped up off the tracks and ran up to my feet last week, as I stood on a platform in Camden station. It just sat there, looking at me. I mean *staring* at me.
I swear to God, if it could have spoken it would have threatened me for some cheese.

  3. Hello, my name is Denise and I am from Mexico. I read about the squirrat and the Kha-nyou. I have seen those kind of squirrel-rats in Mexico also, in a park call Los viveros, it is in the center of the city. I wanted to ask you, how do you think the squirrats appeared in Los viveros? Do you think they can be the same animals that are in Thailand?
Los viveros is full of rat and squirrels and, also it is not very clean. I think these can be causes of of “mutations” in squirrels, but I would like to know your opinion. Thank You very much.
    Denise
