Behokey, but there’s symmetry for ye. As we celebrate our tenth birthday [hip creaks] and look back over ye olde worlde UFO flappery in the Emerald Isle, a new one has appeared. From the Beeb:
Residents in County Down have raised the possibility of a UFO sighting above the skies of Bangor.
Several callers to BBC Northern Ireland have reported a series of strange orange lights in the night sky.
Air traffic control at Belfast International Airport said it had also received reports about the sightings, including one from the Coastguard.
However, the airport said it had no record of any aircraft in the sky at the time.
The callers said the sightings had been made on Saturday evening.
Clifford Rossbottom from Bangor told the BBC: “There were three orange globes – nearly in a straight line – they were an absolutely fascinating sight.
Thing is though, (as was pointed out on p45) that description of ‘three lights in a row’ sounds very similar to a recent UFO discussion here on Blather which suggested that a spate of recent sightings over London were, in fact, rogue Chinese lanterns (popular at weddings and so on) which had escaped into the sky.
Anyone from Bangor out there who can tell us more?

UFO over Archway in London
it wasnt just three lights i saw about 8 or 9 and they were moving in an arranged fashion!!
quirky,
could you tell us a bit more? where were you exactly? anyone else see it with you?
also, you didn’t happen to get a photo by any chance?
i saw the light when i was driving to the rathgail estate there were definitly only three they were moving together like they were a large triangle shaped object or in a formation they did’nt look like a average aircraft as i have worked in the R.A.F for three years now and i did’nt see any key features of a typical aircraft in them

Apparently an employee of the local radio station cool fm, got it all on video. You might be able to track down the video and look yourself!
these same lights were spotted just outside kinsale, cork around 9.45 this evening. 4 lights, 1-2-1, heading from NW, to SE.
