Who Created The Finger Moustache Tattoo?

The tattoo fashion de jour is, without a shadow of a doubt, the finger moustache tattoo:

However, there seems to be some debate as to who exactly is responsible for the original idea. This video gives an interview with Giovanni, the owner of High Street Tattoo who suggests it was his.

However, this report from Fox News suggests that it was created by Mike Brousseau of Federal Hill Tattoo in Rhode Island.
Anyone care to clear this up for us?

Damien DeBarra was born in the late 20th century and grew up in Dublin, Ireland. He now lives in London, England where he shares a house with four laptops, three bikes and a large collection of chairs.

  1. it’s not originally from federal hill tattoo. there was one weekend a few years ago where a bunch of people lost their minds and got one in providence, but that tattoo had existed long before then.
it’s also not originally from high street, they haven’t even existed long enough to be able to take credit for the original.
i’m not sure who did it originally, but think decades ago, not the past 5 years
